What are credits?
Credits are our standard unit of measurement for Hunch usage. Think of them as fuel for your creativity and productivity - the more complex or extensive your work in Hunch, the more credits you’ll use along the way.How do credits work?
Every Hunch account (an individual or an organization) has its own credit pool. Credits are consumed based on:- Blocks run: Each time a block executes on your canvas
- AI model: More advanced AI models require more credits
- Data volume: Larger inputs or outputs (text, images, audio, etc.) use more credits
What can I do with a credit?
As a very rough rule of thumb, a single text-based task consumes one credit. However, in practice, there is a wide range of credits used per block run. Some simpler block runs consume a tiny fraction of a credit, and others could consume tens of credits (or more). For example, using a state-of-the-art AI model to generate thousands of words using hundreds of thousands of words of source material could consume 100 credits or more. Using a smaller model to output a few words could cost just 0.01 credits or less. Here’s an approximate number of credits used for different kinds of block runs:- Web scraping: 0.1 credits
- Running Python/Bash code: 0.1 credits
- AI task with text-only input and output: 1 credit
- AI task with text-only input and output with lots of information: 5–10 credits
- AI agent using multiple tools: 2–10 credits
- Audio transcription: 5–10 credits
- Text-to-speech: 5–10 credits
- Image generation: 5–10 credits
- Video generation: 15+ credits
Account-based credits
Credits are managed at the account level, which means:- For individual users: Credits belong to your personal account
- For organizations: All members share the same credit pool
- Credits purchased by the account are allocated to your account
- Credit usage is tracked for all activity within the account
- Multiple users in an organization share and draw from the same credit pool
How to get more credits?
You can purchase additional credits in-app whenever you need them. Look for the credits indicator at the bottom right of the canvas to see your available balance. Clicking the indicator opens a purchase screen where you can choose and buy a credit bundle.Do credits expire?
